Friday Random Ten - the “Still Washing That Make-Up Off” edition

Even though Andrew Sullivan thinks I’m no fun, I did celebrate Halloween, Hamburg-style. And, because ain’t nothing better than a Strawfeminist, three friends and I dressed up as the ladies from Sex & the City. I was Charlotte, the virginal boring one (Hey, it’s Halloween). Except, dead. Which on me ended up looking more like I put on Whiteface.

The post-Halloween FRT:

2. Timbaland and Magoo - Up Jumps Da Boogie
3. Etta Jones and Strings - And This Is My Beloved

A little Feist for Friday:

And to warm Lauren’s heart, one of my favorite Rufus tunes:

Friday Random Ten - the Ghost Appearance edition

I’m totally cheating on the FRT this week, since I actually wrote this post on Wednesday and just set the publish time for Friday. But you already knew that feminists are liars and cheaters, right?

Friday Random Ten - the Vanity Whore edition

I’m driving around Germany. The NEWLY-MARRIED Lauren is holding down the fort.

(Congratulate her, and pressure her to post pictures).

Friday video: There’s something about boys in tight pants…

Also, Ramesh Srivastava may be rivaling Anderson Cooper for current status of My Other Boyfriend. I’m pretty thoroughly in love. I mean, really, you can’t beat the tight pants and the white t-shirt. What. A. Fox.

10. The Clash - Straight to Hell

I’m on a kick today. Here’s another:

Friday Random Ten - The Dieter Dance Remix

It’s midnight in Hamburg, so it’s FRT time. You know the rules: Set your MP3 player to shuffle, and list the first 10 songs that come up.

I’m heading to Berlin for the weekend to meet up with my mama. An Extra Special Weekend Blogger will hopefully be taking over tomorrow. I will announce details when I have final confirmation. Now, to the curry-wurst for me, and the FRT and a nice video for you:

Friday slightly-less-angular video: Old but good Queen Latifah. Because I feel like playing the Strawfeminist today.

And a Friday West Wing clip, because I’ve spent all evening trying to find The Wire on iTunes and it looks like they don’t have it, so I may just have to order the first two seasons of The West Wing instead. Which is ok, because I’m pretty much completely in love with Sam Seaborn.

The Friday video is inspired by (1) my hearing this song on a bus in Sicily and laughing for a good 15 minutes, and (2) all the bicyclists in Germany who I have thoroughly pissed off by accidentally walking in the bike lane. Sorry guys.

And a Friday Birthday Meme:

If you could go back and talk to your 24-year-old self, what would you tell her/him? And if you’re even more of a baby than I am, what would you want your future 24-year-old self to keep in sight and remember?

And, because I’m asking all of you for your deep life advice, I will reciprocate with the Ask Me Anything game — ask whatever you want, and I’ll answer by Sunday evening. It’ll also give me something to do at the airport.
