Audre Lorde, for over twenty-five years, has been a primary spiritual teacher in my life, a guide, role model, and exemplar of radical feminist being and practice. Her 66th birthday was on February 18th.

I've had that look on my face. (I've seen it in photos!) I know the exact gesture; that very specific instruction in her eyes. I've seen those pictures of

I hope more people read her work and study what she says about patriarchy and its values, dynamics, lies, and distortions. I hope people reading her work brings forth more activism, particularly from men, who come to understand that it is our job to challenge male supremacy and men's domination of women. I hope it encourages men to not drain the energies

I just found out from a white radical lesbian feminist friend that Mary had been quite ill for a while in such a way that makes her passing something of a relief to those who knew of her condition. So with that, let us welcome her into the next realms of wisdom.
